burnished silver feathers ASOS in harness DESIGN ASOS chain hand with The recent adoption of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development presents an opportunity to leverage the synergies with the Incheon Strategy to “Make the Right Real” for Persons with Disabilities in Asia and the Pacific. The two frameworks promote national leadership in meeting specific development goals, taking into account local capabilities and realities. Both the Incheon Strategy and the 2030 Agenda are based on the respect for human rights, and take a peoplecentred and gender-sensitive approach to development.

Methodology of identifying the synergies

Though the graphic representation is at a goal level, the links were drawn in line with the corresponding content of the targets, based on the following criteria:

Specific Incheon Strategy targets can be said to support specific SDG targets when:

  1. The SDG target makes specific reference to disability, AND both the Incheon Strategy target and SDG target refer to similar subject matter;

    AND / OR

  2. The SDG target makes specific reference to disability-related concepts, including but not limited to:
    1. Inclusion / for all
    2. Accessibility / universal access
      AND both the Incheon Strategy target and SDG target refer to similar subject matter;

    AND / OR

  3. Well-informed inferences can be made regarding the outcomes of the implementation of an Incheon Strategy target contributing to the potential achievement of a corresponding SDG target;
    1. Note: This may take into account the context of both the Incheon Strategy and SDG target as established by its overarching goal.
